Rita Ikhouane – A Life Woven with Courage, Purpose, and Heart

Rita Ikhouane’s journey is a tapestry of resilience, soul-searching, and an unshakable drive to live life with purpose.

Born in the warm embrace of Marrakech on March 28, 1988, and raised between Marrakech and Casablanca, Rita’s earliest memories are filled with laughter, unconditional love, and a deep-rooted connection to her extended family; cousins, aunties, grandparents, and her beloved nanny, Tata Fatima. This vibrant Moroccan childhood gave her a compass: love, community, and joy. At just 11 years old, Rita and her family immigrated to Montreal, Canada, where a new chapter began. One of challenges, culture shocks, and adaptation barriers. But Rita faced it all with courage.

By the age of 15, she had already entered the workforce, building a remarkable 22+ year career across multiple fields. Her story is not one of privilege… it’s one of persistence.

After navigating high school, Cegep, and university with tenacity, she found her professional home in the legal world. From a paralegal in 2011, Rita rose to become Director of Operations at a newly founded law firm by 2015, building it from the ground up and running its heart for more than a decade: HR, finance, admin, culture, everything. And yet, success didn’t quiet the whisper of “more.”

More meaning. More purpose.

Her public spirit led her to run for office at both the municipal (2021) and provincial (2022) levels in Quebec, but even politics didn’t bring her the fulfillment she craved; especially when principles  and core values clashed with political agendas. Then came the divine intervention. In the summer of 2023, a trip to Thailand became a spiritual portal. She felt called, deeply and clearly. That call led her to sell her car, let go of her apartment, take her job remote, and start over. Between January 2024 and mid-2025, Rita journeyed across Southeast Asia, studying to become a Certified Jay Shetty Life Coach while still holding down her demanding role at the law firm. In June 2024, she graduated. In September, she returned to her roots, Morocco. Not for vacation, but for good. On March 28, 2025, her birthday, Rita officially launched her coaching company, Maison Ghita SARL, in Marrakech. A dream she’d silently nurtured since her teenage years finally came to life.

Today, Rita is more than a life coach. She is a living testament to inner alignment. Through her coaching practice, she guides others to reconnect with their essence, embrace their truth, and step courageously into the life they’re meant to live. Her path is proof that even when the road winds and trembles, it can still lead to home. Her motto?
